Personalized Wedding Celebration in Charlotte

A Tryon Park wedding for one of our own

As Charlotte locals, Erin and Christopher’s journey to wedding celebrations at Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel was made easier by Erin’s familiarity with the property—she’s the hotel’s Associate Director of Sales. “I wanted wedding guests and family to experience the Kimpton Love that I had been welcomed with when I joined the opening team in 2017,” she said.

The newlyweds hosted a post-ceremony wedding luncheon for 220 of their nearest and dearest and later that evening stepped into a fully transformed ballroom for their jubilant after party. The experience was one the couple will remember forever, even bringing the bride to tears at the after party, “I could not believe that it had been done for me – it was unforgettable.”

Memorable Details

The ceremony took place at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte. Afterwards, attendees participated in a processional featuring a full brass band and led by the 2nd Line Grand Marshal.

"Everyone felt the Kimpton Love – Kimpton knows how to give a party – it was elegant but approachable."

We created a ridiculously personal experience in the Kimpton way.

Reception food

The wedding luncheon took place in Kimpton Tryon Park’s elegant Rhapsody Ballroom and the after party was held in both the Rhapsody and Medley Ballrooms. The after party featured the elaborately displayed aisle runner from the ceremony and a gorgeous five-tier wedding cake with special cake pulls for the bridesmaids, each with a little gift.

A celebratory entrance

The couple’s beloved dog, Cash, a certified service dog, was the “Best Dog” for the wedding. He was even the inspiration for a few culinary touches including the groom’s cake, which took center stage at the wedding luncheon and the signature cocktail at the after party, aptly named “In Lieu of Gifts CASH Money.”
